Purpose of Job
Working as part of the Infrastructure and Operations team, provide excellent design, support and maintenance of a multi-location network and telecommunications infrastructure. This role reports to the Manager of Infrastructure and Operations.
Principal Responsibilities
- Ensure that network access to all the operating locations are maintained, monitored and operating well.
- Monitoring and diagnosing equipment. Liaising with third parties for the repair or replacement of faulty equipment as appropriate.
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements to the network to improve resiliency, operation, or cost to operate. This may include hardware and software for system maintenance or end user applications.
- Provide Tier 3 user support for company IT and Telephony networks, with Response and Return to Service times as documented in the internal Service Level Agreement.
- Maintenance of accurate records in the Help Desk Ticketing system
- Installation and configuration of computer equipment
- Upgrading hardware and software
- Investigating and resolving network related problems.
- Assisting users with hardware and software related issues
- Assist in the control of access to the network through allocation of user access rights.
- Assist in the maintenance of communication services including email, intranet, extranet and Internet access and usage.
- Monitor and manage the network server backups. Ensure that the company’s information assets are protected in the event of a disaster.
- Assist in the maintenance of accurate licensing of all internally issued software used by all personnel.
- Work in accordance with the communications network management procedures.
